Medela have issueed a new release that the serial numbers are not on the product at all, but they are on the box if you still have it.
However, you don’t need to check as Medela tell us that ALL Medela B-Well Steam Sterilisers sold in the UK have been recalled
Important customer information with regards to the B-Well Steam Steriliser
Due to moisture potentially gathering at the connection of the power cable and the Steriliser unit in individual cases, B-Well Steriliser article numbers 008.0100 to 008.0104, 008.0121, 008.0287 sterilisers can carry a potential risk of burn, fire or exposure to significant electric current. Despite the fact that no significant health complaints associated with such incident have been reported, the risk of very severe health complaints can at this point not be excluded.
Medela takes the safety of its products very seriously. Therefore, Medela has initiated a worldwide voluntary field measure with regard to the B-Well Steriliser article numbers 008.0100 to 008.0104, 008.0121, 008.0287. Customers are asked to permanently refrain from using the B-Well Steriliser article numbers 008.0100 to 008.0104, 008.0121, 008.0287. You are also asked to disconnect the power cable from the electric system.
As an additional measure, Medela is requesting all end customers to either return the B-Well-Steriliser to the point where they purchased it, or to ship it to the distributor in their respective country.
